For left-hand drive cars:
Check the cable between VGLA control module #B5 and the black lock unit terminal 1 and the cable between the black lock unit connector terminal 2 and ground for an open-circuit according to Checking wiring and terminals - Permanent faults.

For right-hand drive cars:
Check the cable between VGLA control module #B5 and the black lock unit terminal 4 and the cable between the black lock unit connector terminal 3 and ground for an open-circuit according to Checking wiring and terminals - Permanent faults.
