Signal Too High
Signal too high
Checking transmission speed sensor signal
- Ignition off.
- Raise car so that drive wheels are unimpeded.
- Start the engine and let it idle.
- Shift gear selector to position D so that the drive wheels begin to rotate.
- Read off the transmission speed.
Depress the accelerator pedal (AP) and check that engine speed (RPM) is updated.
Note! When the rear wheels are stationary and the front wheels rotate, diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs) can be stored in the ABS system. Erase any diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs) stored in the ABS system after fault-tracing.
Note! Ensure that the wheels are not rotating when the gear selector is moved.
Was speed updated?
Yes - Intermittent fault
No - Checking cables and sensors

Checking cables and sensors
- Ignition off.
Check wiring between control module #A59 and #A41 and transmission connector #16 and #17 for a short-circuit each other.
Check power supply cable between control module #A59 and transmission connector #16 for a short-circuit to supply voltage according to Checking wiring and terminals. Permanent fault Checking Wiring and Terminals. Permanent Fault.
Check signal cable between control module #A41 and transmission connector #17 for an open-circuit or a short-circuit to supply voltage according to Checking wiring and terminals. Permanent fault Checking Wiring and Terminals. Permanent Fault.
Hint: With control module connected, ignition on and a voltmeter connected between transmission connectors #16 and #17 (control module side), the voltage should be approximately 8-12 V.
Remedy as necessary.
