Internal fault. Permanent fault
Checking the control module
- Ignition off.
- Disconnect the speed sensor according to Replacing vehicle speed sensor (VSS) .
- Wait at least 120 seconds.
- Connect the speed sensor according to Replacing vehicle speed sensor (VSS) .
- Ignition on.
The EEPROM in the control module stores diagnostic trouble codes (DTC), diagnostic trouble code (DTC) counters and frozen values. If the memory circuit is malfunctioning then no information can be read from it. To check the condition of the memory it is necessary to simulate a fault. This stores a diagnostic trouble code (DTC). The memory can then be checked by reading off the diagnostic trouble code (DTC) information.
Read off the diagnostic trouble code (DTC) counter.
Is it possible to read off the diagnostic trouble code (DTC) counter?
