Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) Information
Diagnostic trouble code (DTC) information
Condition
Line pressure solenoid STH regulates line pressure in the transmission. The solenoid is controlled by an amplifier in the transmission control module (TCM) output. The transmission control module (TCM) uses the amplifier to control the current to the solenoid. A low amperage gives a high line pressure. A high amperage (approximately 1 A) gives a low line pressure. Amperage is primarily affected by throttle position. Diagnostic trouble code (DTC) TCM-000D is stored if the control module registers that the current is too high through the circuit. Solenoid STH is unable to control the system pressure.
Substitute value
- The control module "Limp Home" program initiated.
Possible source
- Short-circuit to supply voltage in the control signal wiring or signal wiring.
- Short-circuit between control signal cable and signal cable.
- Defective solenoid STH.
Fault symptom[s]
- General orange warning lamp lit.
- Malfunction indicator lamp (MIL) lit.
- No shifting.
- No lock-up function.
Hint: No shifting - because the transmission control module (TCM) prevents activation of the solenoids. This stops gear-shifting. The transmission only operates in 3rd gear in positions 1 and 2, 4th gear in positions D and 3, and reverse gear in position R. Shifting can only be carried out manually between 3rd, 4th and reverse gears.
Caution! There is a danger that this fault will cause line pressure in the transmission to be too low, which will result in wear.
