Signal Too High. Intermittent Fault
Signal too high. Intermittent fault
Intermittent fault
Caution! SRS-314 is stored if a fault occurs in the left front seat belt tensioner or the left rear seat belt tensioner. It may be necessary to carry out fault-tracing on the front and rear seat belt tensioners to find the fault.
- Ignition off.
- Disconnect the connector from the left seat belt tensioner, front or rear.
- Ignition on.
Connect oscilloscope between seat belt tensioner #1 and ground. Take a reading for an intermittent short-circuit to ground according to Checking wiring and terminals. Intermittent faults Checking Wiring and Terminals. Intermittent Faults. The oscilloscope should indicate a spiked pulse with a cyclic time of approximately 500 ms and an offset off approximately 2 V.
If the value deviates there is a short-circuit in the cable. Replace the cable harness.
Also take readings between seat belt tensioner #2 and ground.
The oscilloscope should read approximately 2 V.
Remedy as necessary.
Select Continue when the fault has been remedied.
