Signal Too High. Intermittent Fault
Signal too high. Intermittent fault
Checking wiring
- Ignition off.
- Disconnect the connector from the seat belt tensioner.
- Ignition on.
Connect oscilloscope between seat belt tensioner #1 and ground. Check for an intermittent short-circuit to supply voltage according to Checking wiring and terminals. Intermittent faults Checking Wiring and Terminals. Intermittent Faults.
The oscilloscope should now display a spiked pulse with an interval of approximately 500 ms.
If the value deviates there is a short-circuit in the cable. Replace the cable harness.
Also take readings between seat belt tensioner #2 and ground.
The oscilloscope should not give a reading.
Remedy as necessary.
