Signal too high. Intermittent fault

Checking components and wiring








- disconnect the driver's airbag connector.
- Ignition on.
Connect an oscilloscope between driver's airbag #1 and #3. Test for an intermittent short-circuit to supply voltage according to Checking wiring and terminals. Intermittent faults Checking Wiring and Terminals. Intermittent Faults.
The oscilloscope should now display a spiked pulse with an interval of approximately 500 ms.
Also take a reading between ground and airbag #3. The oscilloscope should not give any reading.
The cable harness must be replaced if there is a fault in the wiring. No repairs may be made to the cable harness.
Remedy as necessary.

Note! Diagnostic trouble code (DTC) SRS-212 is stored after this reading has been taken. Ignore the diagnostic trouble code (DTC), which is stored due to this operation.
