Signal too low. Intermittent fault

Checking wiring












- Make a note of the anti-theft radio code.
- Ignition off.
- Disconnect the battery negative lead.
- Disconnect the connector from the driver's airbag.
- Disconnect the control module.

Warning! Under no circumstances use an ohmmeter or other live measuring instrument to take readings on a disconnected, non-deployed airbag module. This could deploy the airbag!

Connect an ohmmeter between driver's airbag #1 and ground. Check for an intermittent short-circuit to ground according to Checking wiring and terminals. Intermittent faults Checking Wiring and Terminals. Intermittent Faults.
Disconnect the connector from the contact reel.
Connect an ohmmeter between contact reel #1 and ground. Check for an intermittent short-circuit to ground according to Checking wiring and terminals. Intermittent faults Checking Wiring and Terminals. Intermittent Faults.
Remedy as necessary.
