Checking CD-ROM player function




- Ignition on.
- Insert a CD-ROM disc with map information into the CD-ROM player.
- Use System test function to test CD-ROM player functions. For more information about the System test, see System Test System Test. The test can take up to approximately 4 minutes at longest.
Check that CD-ROM player functions.





Is the CD-ROM player OK?

Yes - Intermittent fault

No - Checking CD-ROM player

Note! If the CD ROM disc is dirty or damaged the test will indicate that the player is not OK. Check/clean the CD-ROM disc or try a new CD-ROM disc for this test.




- Ignition on.

Check that CD-ROM player is OK.
If the CD-ROM player function is now OK, the fault was due to the CD-ROM disc.

No - Replacing component

Try a new CD-ROM player according to Replacing, CD-ROM player Service and Repair.

Hint: After carrying out the repair, check that the fault has been remedied.












- Ignition off.
- Reconnect connectors, reinstall components.
- Ignition on.
- Insert a CD-ROM disc with map information into the CD-ROM player.
- Use System test function to test CD-ROM player functions. For more information about the System test, see System Test System Test. The test can take up to approximately 4 minutes at longest.
Check if CD-ROM player is OK or not.
If the CD-ROM player functions OK is displayed.

The CD tracer indicates that the control module had previously identified a fault with the CD-ROM disc or the CD-ROM player but that the fault is no longer apparent.
