Temperature too high

Checking CD-ROM player function




- Ignition on.
- Insert a CD-ROM disc with map information into the CD-ROM player.
- Use System test function to test the CD-ROM player function (if the temperature is too high or not). For more information about the System test, see System Test System Test. The test can take up to approximately 4 minutes at longest.
Check that CD-ROM player is OK.





Is the CD-ROM player OK?

Yes - Intermittent fault

No - Check the CD-ROM player temperature

Check the CD-ROM player temperature
Check CD-ROM player temperature by touching it. If it is too hot ensure that it has not been covered in some way.
If the CD-ROM player temperature is below 82-90°C (179.6 - 194°F), try a new CD-ROM player.
Remedy as necessary.

Hint: After carrying out the repair, check that the fault has been remedied.












- Ignition off.
- Reconnect connectors, reinstall components.
- Ignition on.
- Insert a CD-ROM disc with map information into the CD-ROM player.
- Use System test function to test CD-ROM player functions. For more information about the System test, see System Test System Test. The test can take up to approximately 4 minutes at longest.
Check if CD-ROM player is OK or not.
If the CD-ROM player functions OK is displayed.

No - Fault-tracing information

Intermittent fault
The CD tracer indicates that the control module had previously identified a high temperature in the CD-ROM but that the fault is no longer apparent.
