Checking movement direction
Adjust the rear edge of the seat up and down with the control button.
Is the rear edge of the seat moving in the correct direction?
Yes - Checking cables to potentiometer 3
No - Reconnecting wiring for motor 3

Reconnecting wiring for motor 3
- Ignition off.
- Remove the seat from the car according to Lifting the power seat in and out Lifting the Power Seat In and Out.
- Disconnect the black 14-pin connector C.
Switch the cables:
- Press out the pins in terminal 3 (yellow cable) and 4 (green cable) from connector C. Use terminal removal tool 951 2631 Terminal removal tool 951 2631 Terminal Removal Tool.
- Switch the two cables and press the pins into the connector.

Checking cables to potentiometer 3
- Ignition off.
- Remove the seat from the car according to Lifting the power seat in and out Lifting the Power Seat In and Out.
- Disconnect the black 14-pin connector C.
Check that the brown cable is connected to C:14 and the red cable to C:7.
If connection is incorrect:
- Press out pins for C:14 and C:7. Use terminal removal tool 951 2631 Terminal removal tool 951 2631 Terminal Removal Tool.
- Switch the two cables and press the pins into the connector.
- Reconnect the connector.
Were the cables connected properly?
Yes - Replacing the component
No - Verification

Replacing the component
The motor and potentiometer are correctly connected to the control module.
Try a new control module according to Control module Control Module.

- Ignition off.
- Connect seat to car..
Read off value from the potentiometer for motor 3.
Adjust the seat rear height up and down using the control button.
The value should increase when the seat rear is adjusted upwards and be reduced when it is adjusted downwards.
