Checking potentiometer's signal
- Ignition off.
Read off value from potentiometer 1.
Use the control buttons to adjust the seat front-rear, the backrest angle and the seat height adjustment at front and rear edges.
The value from potentiometer 1 should only be affected when the seat front edge is adjusted and not when the other functions are affected. Front-rear adjustment should stop when the button is released.

- Ignition off.
- Remove seat from car according to Replacing seat assembly Replacing Seat Assembly.
Check and correct incorrectly connected leads to motor 1 and to the potentiometer on motor 1. See Wiring Diagrams 850 for the relevant model year for correct connection information.
Switching connections:
- Press the pins out of connector C for the leads that are to be switched over. Use terminal removal tool 951 2631 Terminal removal tool 951 2631 Terminal Removal Tool.
- Switch the leads and press the pins into the connector.

- Ignition off.
- Disconnect the black 14-pin connector C and the 3-pin connector on the potentiometer.
- Check the yellow/red signal lead in the black 14-pin connector, terminal C:9, and the two other yellow/red signal leads, C:10 and C:11, for a short-circuit to each other.
Was a fault detected?

No - Replacing component

Motors and potentiometers are correctly connected and the cables are not damaged.
Try a new control module according to Control module, replace Control Module.

- Reinstall components, reconnect connectors etc.

Check the yellow/red signal lead in the black 14-pin connector, terminal C:9 and the two other yellow/red signal leads, C:10 and C:11, for intermittent short-circuit between the two leads.
