Checking cables
Check that battery voltage is normal and that the charging system functions. When the generator (GEN) is charging the voltage should be 12-15 V.
Check control module connectors for contact resistance and oxidation according to Checking wiring and terminals. Permanent fault Checking Wiring and Terminals. Permanent Fault.
Check signal cable between MCC control module #B17 and fuse 7 for an open-circuit according to Checking wiring and terminals. Permanent fault Checking Wiring and Terminals. Permanent Fault.
Remedy as necessary.
Other information:
- Breakout box connection, refer to Connection of breakout box MCC Connection of Breakout Box MCC.
- The cable should have battery voltage regardless of the position on the ignition switch. For other values, refer to Signal descriptions MCC Signal Descriptions MCC.

Hint: After carrying out the repair, check that the fault has been remedied.
- Ignition off
- Reconnect connectors, reinstall components.
- Start engine.
- Activate self-adjustment of damper motors according to Diagnostic functions MCC Diagnostic Functions MCC.
- Ignition off
Read off diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs) in MCC control module according to Diagnostic functions MCC Diagnostic Functions MCC.
With ignition off all stored diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs), with the exception of MCC 5-1-2 in the MCC control module, are erased. Turning ON the ignition will initiate a self-diagnostic sequence in the control module and diagnostic trouble code (DTC) will be reset if there is still a fault.
Is the diagnostic trouble code (DTC) still stored?
Yes - No Fault Found Fault-tracing information
No - FAULT FOUND

The fault should have been detected and remedied. As this is not the case fault-tracing has failed.
Exit fault-tracing for this diagnostic trouble code (DTC) or make another attempt.
Do you want to exit fault-tracing?
