Checking component
Check that the damper, link, cam discs, damper motor etc can move freely and smoothly to the limit positions for the damper motors.
Check the damper motors are correctly installed.
To access/replace the damper motors, refer to Replacing damper motors Removal and Replacement (damper motor recirculation) respectively Replacing damper motors Removal and Replacement Damper Motor Position Sensor recirculation
Remedy as necessary.

Activate function Self-adjust damper motors according to Diagnostic functions MCC Diagnostic Functions MCC.

Verification

Hint: After carrying out the repair, check that the fault has been remedied.












- Ignition off
- Reconnect connectors, reinstall components.
- Start engine.
- Activate self adjustment and damper motors according to Diagnostic functions MCC Diagnostic Functions MCC.
- Ignition off
Read off diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs) in MCC control module according to Diagnostic functions MCC Diagnostic Functions MCC.
With ignition off all stored diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs), with the exception of MCC 5-1-2 in the MCC control module, are erased. Turning ON the ignition will initiate a self-diagnostic sequence in the control module and diagnostic trouble code (DTC) will be reset if there is still a fault.

Is the diagnostic trouble code (DTC) still stored?

Yes - No Fault Found Fault-tracing information

No - FAULT FOUND
