Check that the damper, linkage and gear segment can move freely and smoothly to the end positions. If damper/shutter is OK, try a new damper motor.
- To access/replace the air distribution damper motor, refer to Replacing damper motors Removal and Replacement.
Remedy as necessary.

Hint: After carrying out the repair, check that the fault has been remedied.












- Ignition off
- Reconnect connectors, reinstall components.
- Start engine.
- Turn the air distribution selector to all positions so that the damper motor is activated.
- Ignition off
Read off diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs) in MCC control module according to Diagnostic functions MCC Diagnostic Functions MCC.
With ignition off all stored diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs), with the exception of MCC 5-1-2 in the MCC control module, are erased. Turning ON the ignition will initiate a self-diagnostic sequence in the control module and diagnostic trouble code (DTC) will be reset if there is still a fault.

Is the diagnostic trouble code (DTC) still stored?

No - FAULT FOUND
