IMM-233 Antenna ring

Condition




Diagnostic trouble code (DTC) IMM-233 is stored two seconds after ignition if the immobilizer control module tries to read a transponder and does not receive a signal from the antenna ring. Faults which cause diagnostic trouble code (DTC) IMM- 233 can also cause diagnostic trouble code (DTC) IMM-225 to be stored.
The diagnostic trouble code (DTC) is erased when the counter value reaches 254.

Possible source
- Defective antenna ring.
- Antenna ring is not connected.
- Fault in the control module antenna connector.
- The cable between control module terminal #9 and antenna ring terminal #2 is short-circuited to ground.
- Cable between control module terminal #9 and antenna ring terminal #2 is short-circuited to supply voltage.
- The cable between control module terminal #10 and antenna ring terminal #4 is short-circuited to ground.
- Cable between control module terminal #10 and antenna ring terminal #4 is short-circuited to supply voltage.
- Open-circuit in cables to or in the antenna ring.
- Short-circuit in cables to or in the antenna ring.

Fault symptom[s]
- Engine starts but stops immediately.
- In certain cases however, the engine may start.
