Signal too low

Checking flame sensor function




- Ignition on.
- Activate heater.
For information on how the heater should operate when running see Test driving of Additional heater/Parking heater Initial Inspection and Diagnostic Overview.





Does the heater start?

Yes - Intermittent fault

No - Checking component and cables

Checking component and cables
Check cable between control module #8 and flame sensor signal cable for a short-circuit to ground according to Checking wiring and terminals. Permanent fault Checking Wiring and Terminals. Permanent Fault.

Hint: Because it is difficult to separate the flame sensor ground lead from the signal cable measure the cables one at a time to see if the re is a permitted value from one of them.

If no fault in the cable is found replace the flame sensor.
Remedy as necessary.

Hint: After carrying out the repair, check that the fault has been remedied.








- Ignition off.
- Reinstall connectors, components etc.
- Ignition on.
- Activate heater.
Check heater function according to Test driving of Additional heater/Parking heater Initial Inspection and Diagnostic Overview.





Does the heater function?

Yes - VERIFIED

No - VERIFICATION FAILED
