Signal too low. Permanent fault

Checking fault cause
Check the fault cause corresponding symptoms. One of the following alternatives can occur:
1. A used immobilizer system has been installed.
2. A used VGLA control module has been installed.
3. An non-approved or defective key.

Which alternative applies?

1 - Replacing the control module

2 - Replacing the control module

3 - Checking the key

Replacing the control module
Reinstall the original control module or install a new immobilizer control module.

Checking the key
A non-approved key has been used because the alarm has been triggered.
Check to ensure that the correct key is used.
Read of the diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs) for the immobilizer and remedy accordingly.

Hint: After carrying out the repair, check that the fault has been remedied.








- Ignition off.
- Remove the key from the ignition switch.
- Reinstall connectors, components etc.
- Shut all doors, the hood and the trunk lid.
- Sit in the driver's seat and activate the alarm with the remote control.
- Insert the key in the ignition switch and switch on the ignition within 25 seconds. This is so that the alarm will be in set mode.
Read off diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs).
The diagnostic trouble code (DTC) should now have switched to intermittent if the fault is no longer present.

Yes - VERIFIED

No - VERIFICATION FAILED

The fault should have been detected and remedied. As this is not the case fault-tracing has failed.
Exit fault-tracing for this diagnostic trouble code (DTC) or make another attempt.
