NA. DTC 453

Condition

Diagnostic trouble code (DTC) GLA-453 is stored if the control module registers that the input signal from the immobilizer is less than 1.5 V for 10 seconds when the alarm is activated.

Substitute Value
None.

Possible Source
Short-circuit to ground in signal cable.

Fault Symptom(s)

When the ignition is switched on the LED flashes at 4 Hz for 15 seconds.
The car is immobilized.

Start fault-tracing with NB.


NB1. Checking Signal From Immobilizer






Ignition off.
Connect a voltmeter between control module #A11 and ground.

Other information:
The voltage between control module #A11 and ground should be battery voltage with the ignition off.
Is the reading OK?
1mYes: Go to NB4.
No: Go to NB2.


NB2. Checking Cables





Check cable between control module #Al 1 and immobilizer control module #7 for a short-circuit to ground according to WWA3 WW. Checking Wiring and Connections Then continue with NB3.


NB3. Verification





Hint: After carrying out the repair, check that the fault has been remedied as follows:

Ignition off.
Reconnect connectors, reinstall components.
Connect a voltmeter between control module #A11 and ground.

Other information:
The voltage between control module #A1 and ground should be battery voltage with the ignition off.
Is the reading OK?
Yes: Fault corrected
No: Fault not found

NB4. Intermittent





Check cable between control module #Ai 1 and immobilizer control module #7 for an intermittent short-circuit to ground according to WWB3 WW. Checking Wiring and Connections Operation done
