Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) Information
Diagnostic trouble code (DTC) information
Condition
If Engine control module (ECM) registers that the signal from the clutch pedal position sensor is:
- Lower than 9.0% for longer time than 0.16 seconds, then ECM-9300, Too low signal, is stored.
- Higher than 79.7% for longer time than 0.16 seconds, then ECM-9300, Too high signal, is stored.
- Between 72.3 % and V 79.7 % for longer time than 0.16 seconds, then ECM-9300, Faulty signal, is stored.
For upgraded software, released during year 2006 or later, the fault type Faulty signal is no longer necessary and therefore has been removed. With regards to detection times for the other fault types, these are increased from 0.16 to 5 seconds.

Substitute value
Cruise control off.
Cruise control off during entire operating cycle in which fault was detected. If the fault is no longer present, the function is available the next time the car is started.
Possible source
Signal too high
- short-circuit to supply voltage in the signal cable
- Open circuit on signal cable.
- Open-circuit in the ground lead.
- Damaged clutch pedal position sensor.
Signal too low
- short-circuit to ground in the signal cable
- defective clutch pedal position sensor
Faulty signal
- defective clutch pedal position sensor
- open-circuit in signal cable
- incorrectly installed clutch pedal position sensor
Fault symptom[s]
- ETS warning lamp lit
- cruise control does not function at all
