Condition




The diagnostic trouble code (DTC) ECM-8010 is stored if the voltage from the system relay exceeds 16.5 V (high signal) under 9 V (low signal) or is less than 2.5 V (faulty signal) and that 3 minutes has passed since the engine was started and that the car has a speed.

Substitute value
13.4 V for a faulty signal, other fault none

Possible source

Signal too high:
- faulty charging system

Signal too low:
- faulty charging system
- poor battery
- contact resistance in terminals

Faulty signal:
- faulty system relay
- open-circuit in power cable from system relay
- system relay power cable short-circuited to ground

Fault symptom[s]
- engine cuts out
- engine does not start
