Checking wiring and components
Check signal cable between knock sensor (KS) #1 and control module #A46 (#A46) and ground lead between knock sensor (KS) #2 and control module #A64 (#B4) for a short-circuit to supply voltage to supply voltage according to Checking wiring and terminals. Permanent fault Checking Wiring and Terminals. Permanent Fault.
Check that knock sensor (KS) is tightened to correct torque according to Knock sensor (KS), replacing, B5234T9, B5244T7 Removal and Replacement.
Hint: The diagnostic trouble code (DTC) may be caused by a worn engine. Start the engine and listen for discordant noise.
Remedy as necessary.

Hint: After carrying out the repair, check that the fault has been remedied.
- Ignition off.
- Reconnect the connectors, reinstall components etc.
- Start engine and run to normal operating temperature.
- Rev the engine to 3500 rpm and read off the value of the knock sensor (KS) signal.
Is the value between 2-6?
