Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) Information

Diagnostic trouble code (DTC) information ECM-130A

Condition

Engine control module (ECM) calculates the air mass in to the engine using, among other, information about the throttle position, engine rpm, EVAP-flow, air temperature, atmospheric pressure and pressure in the intake manifold. Then the calculated value is corrected so that it matches with the measured air mass from the mass air flow sensor. If Engine control module (ECM) registers that a too high correction of the calculated value is necessary, then diagnostic trouble code ECM-130A, Faulty flow, is stored.
For upgraded software, released during year 2006 or later, certain adjustments have been made. A greater correction of the calculated air mass will be allowed, which means that the system will be more tolerant to greater deviations in the air mass. Therefore this diagnostic trouble code is no longer necessary and has been removed.

Substitute value
- None.

Possible source

Faulty signal
- Air leakage in the intake system
- Contaminated throttle disc
- Blocked crankcase ventilation or positive crankcase ventilation (PCV) nipple.
- Damaged mass air flow sensor.
- This diagnostic trouble code is generated in combination with other trouble codes. Information on the possible root cause is described.

Fault symptom[s]
- Poor performance.
