Checking fan motor passenger compartment temperature sensor
- Ignition off.
- Remove passenger compartment temperature sensor according to Replacing passenger compartment temperature sensor (ECC) Removal and Replacement. Leave the sensor connected.
- Ignition on.
- Start blower fan on manual speed, the sensor fan motor should start.
Check that fan motor in the temperature sensor is operating.
Is the fan working?
Yes - Intermittent fault.
No - Checking components and cables
-------------------------------------------------
Checking components and cables
Check that the fan motor in the passenger compartment temperature sensor is OK, the fan turns easily and the motor is not short-circuited internally.
Remedy as necessary.
Other information:
- To access/replace the passenger compartment temperature sensor, refer to Replacing passenger compartment temperature sensor (ECC) Removal and Replacement.

Fault-tracing information
The fault should have been detected and remedied. As this is not the case fault-tracing has failed.
Exit fault-tracing for this diagnostic trouble code (DTC) or make another attempt.
Do you want to exit fault-tracing?
Yes - Exit fault-tracing
No - Attempt New Test

Attempt New Test - Checking fan motor passenger compartment temperature sensor
-------------------------------------------------
Intermittent fault.
Fault-tracing indicates that the ECC control module registered a fault previously on the fan motor but the fault is now no longer present. Check that the fan motor in the passenger compartment temperature sensor is OK, the fan turns easily and that there is nothing in the way of the fan to stop it turning.
Remedy as necessary.
Other information:
- To access/replace the passenger compartment temperature sensor, refer to Replacing passenger compartment temperature sensor (ECC) Removal and Replacement.
