Signal Too Low In Common Circuit

Signal too low in common circuit

Checking passenger side temperature damper motor function

Hint: Diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs) ECC-212, ECC-221, ECC-232 and ECC-236 stored at the same time indicate a fault in a common section of the damper motors circuit. The status of the fault can be read off by checking the diagnostic trouble code (DTC) counter. This is why this fault-tracing should be carried out.

- Ignition on.
- Wait at least 10 seconds for the control module to carry out its diagnostic.
- Read off diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs).

Has the DTC status changed to intermittent fault?

Yes - Intermittent fault

No - Checking cables

-------------------------------------------------

Checking cables
Check ECC control module connector for contact resistance and oxidation according to Checking wiring and terminals. Permanent fault Checking Wiring and Terminals. Permanent Fault.
Check the common power supply cable between ECC control module #A7 and damper motor terminal 2 for an open-circuit according to Checking wiring and terminals. Permanent fault Checking Wiring and Terminals. Permanent Fault and a short-circuit to ground according to Checking wiring and terminals. Permanent fault Checking Wiring and Terminals. Permanent Fault.
Remedy as necessary.

Other information
- To disconnect the control module, see Replacing ECC control module Removal and Replacement.
- To access the passenger side temperature damper motor, see Replacing damper motors Removal and Replacement.
- To access the driver's side temperature damper motor, see Replacing damper motors Removal and Replacement.
- To access the air distribution damper motor, see Replacing damper motors Removal and Replacement.
- To access the recirculation damper motor, see Replacing damper motors Removal and Replacement.
- To connect the breakout box, see Connection of breakout box ECC Connection of Breakout Box ECC.
- The power supply to the damper motors should be approximately 5 V. For other values, see Signal specification ECC Signal Specification ECC.

Information

Fault-tracing information
The fault should have been detected and remedied. As this is not the case fault-tracing has failed.
Exit fault-tracing for this diagnostic trouble code (DTC) or make another attempt.

Do you want to exit fault-tracing?

Yes - Exit fault-tracing

No - Attempt New Test
