Condition
The diagnostic trouble code (DTC) is stored if the control module registers that the charging signal is missing for more than 10 seconds and that engine speed (RPM) exceeds 1000 rpm.

Possible source
- Open-circuit in signal cable from generator.
- Short-circuit to ground in signal cable.

Fault symptom[s]
- Generator not charging warning lamp lit with engine running.
