Checking the wiring
- Ignition off
- Check control module connector D for a short-circuit to supply voltage according to Checking wiring and terminals. Permanent fault Checking Wiring and Terminals. Permanent Fault
- Ignition on.
Connect a voltmeter in order between:
D1 and ground, motor, front lock.
D7 and ground, motor, front lock.
D2 and ground, motor, front lock.
D8 and ground, motor, front lock.
D3 and ground, motor, tension bow, left-hand side.
D9 and ground, motor, tension bow, left-hand side.
D4 and ground, motor, tension bow, right-hand side.
D10 and ground, motor, tension bow, right-hand side.
D5 and ground, motor, convertible top, left-hand side.
D11 and ground, motor, convertible top, left-hand side.
D6 and ground, motor, convertible top, right-hand side.
D12 and ground, motor, convertible top, right-hand side.
D13 and ground, motor, rear latch arms.
D14 and ground, motor, rear latch arms.
Check for a short-circuit to supply voltage according to Checking wiring and terminals. Permanent fault Checking Wiring and Terminals. Permanent Fault.
Remedy as necessary.

- Check the relevant motor connector for a short-circuit to supply voltage according to Checking wiring and terminals. Permanent fault Checking Wiring and Terminals. Permanent Fault
- Ignition on.
Connect a voltmeter between 1 on the relevant motor and ground and between 2 and ground. Check for a short-circuit to supply voltage according to Checking wiring and terminals. Permanent fault Checking Wiring and Terminals. Permanent Fault.
Replace the motor if there is a short-circuit in the motor.
If no fault is found there is probably a short-circuit in the cable between the control module and the motor connectors.
Remedy as necessary.

- Ignition off
- Connect the connectors, install the components, etc.
- Ignition on
- Apply parking brake
- Close the luggage compartment lid
- Speed < 4km/h.
Operate the control switch to move the convertible top.
Move the convertible top to its end positions.
