Checking the connectors and cables
- Ignition off
- Check control module connector A for a short-circuit to ground according to Checking wiring and terminals. Permanent fault Checking Wiring and Terminals. Permanent Fault.
Connect an ohmmeter between control module A16 and ground.
Test for a short-circuit to ground according to Checking wiring and terminals. Permanent fault Checking Wiring and Terminals. Permanent Fault.
If a short-circuit is found, check the control switch connector for a short-circuit to ground according to Checking wiring and terminals. Permanent fault Checking Wiring and Terminals. Permanent Fault.
Connect an ohmmeter between switch 1 and 5.
The control switch must be in the unaffected position.
Test for a short-circuit to ground according to Checking wiring and terminals. Permanent fault Checking Wiring and Terminals. Permanent Fault.
Replace the control switch if a short-circuit is found.
If no short-circuit is found in the switch, there is probably a fault in the cable between the control module and the control switch.
Remedy as necessary.

- Ignition off
- Reinstall the connectors, components etc.
- Ignition on
- Check that lamp lights during the lamp test.
Activate the switch for convertible top operation.
The dashboard LED must light as soon as the convertible top is activated.
Does the lamp light?
