Checking the wiring




- Check control module connector D for a short-circuit to supply voltage according to Checking wiring and terminals. Permanent fault Checking Wiring and Terminals. Permanent Fault
- Ignition on.
Connect a voltmeter between terminal #D1 and ground and between terminal #D2 and ground. Test for a short-circuit to supply voltage according to Checking wiring and terminals. Permanent fault Checking Wiring and Terminals. Permanent Fault.

Was a short-circuit found?

Yes - Checking the engine

No - Replacing the component

- Ignition on
- Check the relevant motor connector for a short-circuit to supply voltage according to Checking wiring and terminals. Permanent fault Checking Wiring and Terminals. Permanent Fault.
Connect a voltmeter between terminal #1 and ground and between terminal #2 and ground. Test for a short-circuit to supply voltage according to Checking wiring and terminals. Permanent fault Checking Wiring and Terminals. Permanent Fault.
Replace the motor if a short-circuit is found.
If no short-circuit is found in the motor, the fault is in the cable between the control module and the motor connectors.
Remedy as necessary.

Select Continue when the fault has been remedied.

Replacing the component




- Ignition off.
Try a new control module according to Replacing the control module Service and Repair.
After replacing the control module it is important that the control module is calibrated and programmed. Carry out programming and calibration in VIDA.

- Ignition off
- Reinstall the connectors, components etc.
- Ignition on
- Listen for a clicking relay in the control module
- The relay test is carried out directly after "Ignition on".
Test operate the convertible system according to Test operating the convertible system Test Operating the Convertible System.

Does the convertible top function?

Yes - VERIFIED

No - VERIFICATION FAILED
