- Ignition off
- Check control module connector D for contact resistance and oxidation according to Checking wiring and terminals. Intermittent faults Checking Wiring and Terminals. Intermittent Faults
Connect an ohmmeter in order between:
D1 and D7, motor, front lock.
D2 and D8, motor, front lock.
D3 and D9, motor, tension bow, left-hand side.
D4 and D10, motor, tension bow, right-hand side.
D5 and D11, motor, convertible top, left-hand side.
D6 and D12, motor, convertible top, right-hand side.
D13 and D14, motor, rear latch arms.
Check the motors and cables. Check for an intermittent open-circuit according to Checking wiring and terminals. Intermittent faults Checking Wiring and Terminals. Intermittent Faults.
Disconnect the relevant motor if an open-circuit is found.
Check the motor connector. Check for contact resistance and oxidation according to Checking wiring and terminals. Intermittent faults Checking Wiring and Terminals. Intermittent Faults.
Connect an ohmmeter to the motor between 1 and 2. Check for an intermittent open-circuit according to Checking wiring and terminals. Intermittent faults Checking Wiring and Terminals. Intermittent Faults.
Replace the motor if an open-circuit is found.
If there is no open-circuit in the motor the fault is in the cable between the control module and the motor.
Remedy as necessary.

- Check control module connector D. Check for a short-circuit to ground according to Checking wiring and terminals. Intermittent faults Checking Wiring and Terminals. Intermittent Faults.
Connect an ohmmeter in order between:
D1 and ground, motor, front lock.
D7 and ground, motor, front lock.
D2 and ground, motor, front lock.
D8 and ground, motor, front lock.
D3 and ground, motor, tension bow, left-hand side.
D9 and ground, motor, tension bow, left-hand side.
D4 and ground, motor, tension bow, right-hand side.
D10 and ground, motor, tension bow, right-hand side.
D5 and ground, motor, convertible top, left-hand side.
D11 and ground, motor, convertible top, left-hand side.
D6 and ground, motor, convertible top, right-hand side.
D12 and ground, motor, convertible top, right-hand side.
D13 and ground, motor, rear latch arms.
D14 and ground, motor, rear latch arms.
Test for a short-circuit to ground according to Checking wiring and terminals. Intermittent faults Checking Wiring and Terminals. Intermittent Faults.
If a short-circuit is found, check the relevant motor connector for a short-circuit to ground according to Checking wiring and terminals. Intermittent faults Checking Wiring and Terminals. Intermittent Faults.
Connect an ohmmeter between 1 and ground and 2 and ground on the relevant motor. Check for a short-circuit to ground according to Checking wiring and terminals. Intermittent faults Checking Wiring and Terminals. Intermittent Faults.
Replace the motor if a short-circuit is found.
If there is no short-circuit to ground in the motor, there is probably a fault in the cable between the control module and the motor.
Remedy as necessary.
