Checking the combined instrument panel

- Ignition off.
- Connect control module.
- Connect combined instrument panel.
- Raise car so that front wheels are free of the ground.
- Remove front wheels during the test.
- Engine idling.
- Select a gear so the front wheels start to rotate.

Note! When the rear wheels are stationary and the front wheels rotate, diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs) may be stored in the ABS system. Erase any diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs) stored in the ABS system after fault-tracing.

Check that speedometer is operating correctly.

Note! Ensure that the front wheels are not rotating when the gear selector is moved.

Is the speedometer working?

Yes - Fault cause and checking for contact resistance and oxidation

No - Replacing component

-------------------------------------------------

Fault cause and checking for contact resistance and oxidation
The cause of the diagnostic trouble code (DTC) has been loose connections in control module and combined instrument panel connectors.
Check connectors for contact resistance and oxidation and remedy in accordance with Checking wiring and terminals. Permanent fault Checking Wiring and Terminals. Permanent Fault.

Select "Continue" when the fault has been repaired.

Continue - FAULT FOUND

-------------------------------------------------

Replacing component
Try a new combined instrument panel.

Select "Continue" when the component has been replaced.
