Diagnostic trouble code (DTC) information

Condition




The control modules communicate with each other in a network via a standardized serial communication procedure - CAN (Controller Area Network) - for exchange of information. Control modules transmit and receive information. Diagnostic trouble code (DTC) ABS-0091 is stored if the ABS control module registers that communication is missing or subject to interference.

Note! In the event of an ABS system communication fault it is not possible to communicate with the ABS control module. Therefore it will only be possible to read off the fault if it is intermittent.

Substitute value
- CAN communication blocked.
- TRACS system is disengaged (cars equipped with TRACS only).
- Anti-spin function is blocked.

Possible source
- Contact resistance in terminals.
- Open-circuit in one or both communication cables (CAN H or CAN L).
- One or both communication cables short-circuited to ground, voltage or each other.
- Interference in wiring.
- Defective control module.

Fault symptom[s]
- ABS warning lamp lit.
- Anti-spin warning lamp lit.
- Brake circuit not functioning, warning lamp lit.
- Anti-spin does not function.
