Checking diagnostic trouble code (DTC)
Note! Replace the control module if diagnostic trouble code (DTC) ABS-0072 is stored as a permanent fault.
- Ignition on.
- Read off diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs) by clicking on the VCT 2000 symbol.

Was diagnostic trouble code (DTC) ABS-0072 is stored as a permanent fault?
Yes - FAULT FOUND
No - Checking fuse 4

Checking fuse 4
- Check that fuse 4 in the in the integrated relay/fusebox in the engine compartment is intact.
If the fuse is blown, check cable between fuse 4 and control module #9 for a short-circuit to ground according to Checking wiring and terminals. Permanent fault Checking Wiring and Terminals. Permanent Fault. Then replace fuse.
Remedy as necessary.

Was the fuse OK?
Yes - Checking 30-supply to control module
No - Verification

- Ignition off.
- Control module disconnected.
Connect a voltmeter between #8 and #9 on the breakout box.
The voltmeter should read battery voltage.
OK - Checking the control module
Not OK - Checking supply before fuse 4

Checking supply before fuse 4
- Connect a voltmeter between the left socket on the fuse 4 fuse holder and ground.
The voltmeter should read battery voltage.
If the voltmeter reads 0 V it indicates that there is an open-circuit in the cable between fuse 4 and the battery. Check cable for an open-circuit according to Checking wiring and terminals. Permanent fault Checking Wiring and Terminals. Permanent Fault.
Remedy as necessary.
Select Continue when the fault has been remedied.

- Connect control module.
- Test drive car according to Test driving .
Read off the diagnostic trouble code (DTC) status.
Is the status INTERMITTENT?
Yes - Checking contact resistance and oxidation
No - Replacing component

The cause of the fault has been loose connections in the control module connector.
Check control module connectors for contact resistance and oxidation and remedy according to Checking wiring and terminals. Permanent fault Checking Wiring and Terminals. Permanent Fault.
Select Continue when the fault has been remedied.
