Antenna Amplifier: Service and Repair



Removing:

GG1 Removing Floor Hatch:




- Remove rear, outer floor hatch.
- Undo the bottom of the D-post panel.
- Pull out outer section of sill trim panel.
- Fold down left rear seat left backrest.

GG2 Removing Side Cushion:




Remove the left-hand side cushion. Pull forwards at the top to release the side cushion from the clip at the top (1), then lift up (2).

GG3 Removing Panel:




Remove:
- panel between C-post panel and side panel.
- rear screw to metal plate in the upper section between the C-post panel and the side panel.

GG4 Removing C-Post Panel:




Remove:
- C-post panel, pull into the car.
- side panel.

GG5 Removing Soundproofing Panel:




Remove the soundproofing panel.

GG6 Removing Antenna Amplifier:




Remove:
- antenna amplifier bodywork mounting screws.
- antenna cable, antenna amplifier connection to rear side window and power supply connector.

Installing:

GG7 Installing Antenna Amplifier:



Install:
- antenna amplifier.
- screw, tighten to 4 Nm (2.9 ft.lbs).
- antenna cable, antenna amplifier connection to rear side window and power supply cables.

GG8 Checking Antenna Amplifier:




- To prevent radio interference ensure that amplifier power cable does not cross the antenna loop in the window.

- Switch on radio an tune into a weak station. Turn up the volume and go to the back of the car. Listen to the radio while disconnecting the power supply at the D-post. The station should sound even weaker or there should be more interference.

GG9 Installing Soundproofing Panel:




Install soundproofing panel.

GG10 Installing Panels:




Install:
- side panel.
- lower section of D-post panel.
- outer section of sill trim panel.
- floor hatch.
- C-post panel

GG11 Installing Panel:




Install:
- rear screw to metal plate in the upper section between the C-post panel and the side panel.
- panel between C-post panel and side panel.

GG12 Installing Side Cushion:




- Install left-hand side cushion.
- Fold up left rear seat left backrest.
