Signal Too High

ECM-9300 CLUTCH PEDAL POSITION SENSOR
SIGNAL TOO HIGH

Reading off DTC status ECM-9300:

Note! When reading off the diagnostic trouble code (DTC) status, other stored diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs) and their status will be listed.

- Read off the diagnostic trouble code (DTC) status. Check the status of the relevant diagnostic trouble code (DTC).

Was the status of the relevant diagnostic trouble code (DTC) permanent?
Yes - Skip to "Checking Component and Wiring"
No - Continue below.

Checking wiring and connectors

Check clutch pedal sensor connector for loose connections according to [1][2]Checking Wiring and Terminals. Intermittent Faults

Check signal cable between engine control module (ECM) connector #B15 (#B25) and accelerator pedal (AP) position sensor #2 for an intermittent open circuit according to [1][2]Checking Wiring and Terminals. Intermittent Faults and an intermittent short-circuit to supply voltage according to [1][2]Checking Wiring and Terminals. Intermittent Faults

Check signal cable between engine control module (ECM) connector #B4 (#B14) and accelerator pedal (AP) position sensor #4 for an intermittent open circuit according to [1][2]Checking Wiring and Terminals. Intermittent Faults and an intermittent short-circuit to supply voltage according to [1][2]Checking Wiring and Terminals. Intermittent Faults

Other information
- To connect the breakout box, Connecting the Breakout Box (ECM)
- For information about signals, Pinout Values and Diagnostic Parameters

Fault-tracing information
If the fault is intermittent, do not verify fault-tracing if the fault does not recur.
--Testing Complete--

Checking Component and Wiring

Check clutch pedal sensor resistance between #2 and #4, for resistance values Clutch Pedal Sensor

Check cable between accelerator pedal (AP) position sensor connector terminal #B15 (#B25) and engine control module (ECM) #2 for a short-circuit to ground according to [1][2]Checking Wiring and Terminals. Permanent Fault and an open-circuit according to [1][2]Checking Wiring and Terminals. Permanent Fault

Check cable between #B4 (#B14) and clutch pedal sensor #4 for a short-circuit to supply voltage according to [1][2]Checking Wiring and Terminals. Permanent Fault and an open-circuit according to [1][2]Checking Wiring and Terminals. Permanent Fault

Remedy as necessary.

Other information
- To connect the breakout box, Connecting the Breakout Box (ECM)
- With the ignition on and clutch pedal sensor connector disconnected, voltage between clutch pedal sensor #2 and ground should be approximately 5 V.
- With the clutch pedal sensor connector disconnected, clutch pedal sensor #4 (engine control module (ECM) side) should be connected to ground.
- For information about signals, Pinout Values and Diagnostic Parameters

Verification

Hint: After carrying out the repair, check that the fault has been remedied.
- Engine running.
Read off diagnostic trouble code (DTC) status. If the fault has been remedied the status should be intermittent.

Is the status intermittent?
Yes - Tesing Complete.
No - Continue below.

Fault-tracing information
The fault should have been detected and remedied. As this is not the case fault-tracing has failed. Exit fault-tracing for this diagnostic trouble code (DTC) or make another attempt.
