Faulty Signal
ECM-9300 CLUTCH PEDAL POSITION SENSOR
FAULTY SIGNAL
Reading off DTC status ECM-9300:
Note! When reading off the diagnostic trouble code (DTC) status, other stored diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs) and their status will be listed.
- Read off the diagnostic trouble code (DTC) status. Check the status of the relevant diagnostic trouble code (DTC).
Was the status of the relevant diagnostic trouble code (DTC) permanent?
Yes - Skip to "Checking Wiring and Clutch Pedal Sensor Resistance"
No - Continue below.
Checking cables and connectors
Check clutch pedal sensor installation, search for damage and check connections visually according to [1][2]Checking Wiring and Terminals. Intermittent Faults
Remedy as necessary.
Other information:
- To localize the clutch pedal sensor, Locations
- For information about signals, Pinout Values and Diagnostic Parameters
Fault-tracing information
If the fault is intermittent, do not verify fault-tracing if the fault does not recur.
--Tesing Complete--
Checking Wiring and Clutch Pedal Sensor Resistance
Check clutch pedal sensor resistance between #2 and #4. For resistance values Clutch Pedal Sensor
Check clutch pedal sensor installation, search for damage and check connections visually according to Checking Wiring and Terminals. Permanent Fault
Remedy as necessary.
Other information:
- To localize the clutch pedal sensor, Locations
- For information about signals, Pinout Values and Diagnostic Parameters
- With the clutch pedal sensor connector disconnected, clutch pedal sensor #4 (engine control module (ECM) side) should be connected to ground
Checking clutch pedal sensor voltage
With the ignition on and clutch pedal sensor connector disconnected, voltage between clutch pedal sensor #2 and ground should be approximately 5 V.
Verification
Hint: After carrying out the repair, check that the fault has been remedied.
- Engine running.
Read off diagnostic trouble code (DTC) status. If the fault has been remedied the status should be intermittent.
Is the status intermittent?
Yes - Tesing Complete.
No - Continue below.
Fault-tracing information
The fault should have been detected and remedied. As this is not the case fault-tracing has failed. Exit fault-tracing for this diagnostic trouble code (DTC) or make another attempt.
