Faulty Signal
ECM-6200 AACV
FAULTY SIGNAL
Checking for intermittent faults
- Start the engine and let it idle.
Activate the assisted air control valve. Check that the idling speed increases by 300 rpm.
Does the idling speed increase?
Yes - Continue below.
No - Skip to "Checking Wiring and Components"
Checking Wiring and Connectors
Check the assisted air control valve terminals visually according to [1][2]Checking Wiring and Terminals. Intermittent Faults
Remedy as necessary.

Fault-tracing information
If the fault is intermittent, do not verify fault-tracing if the fault does not recur.
--Testing Complete.--
Checking Wiring and Components
Caution! Do not take resistance readings. This may damage the integrated circuit board.
Check the signal cable between control module terminal A52 and assisted air control valve terminal 3 for a short-circuit to supply voltage according to [1][2]Checking Wiring and Terminals. Permanent Fault
Check for a short-circuit to ground according to [1][2]Checking Wiring and Terminals. Permanent Fault
Check for an open-circuit according to [1][2]Checking Wiring and Terminals. Permanent Fault
Check the cable between assisted air control valve terminal 2 and the fuse (11B/5) for an open-circuit according to [1][2]Checking Wiring and Terminals. Permanent Fault

Verification
Hint: After carrying out the repair, check that the fault has been remedied.
- Ignition off.
- Reinstall the connectors, components etc.
- Start the engine and let it idle.
Activate the assisted air control valve. Check that the idling speed increases by 300 rpm.
Does the idling speed increase?
Yes - Testing Complete.
No - Continue below.
Fault-tracing information
The fault should have been detected and remedied. As this is not the case fault-tracing has failed.
Exit fault-tracing for this diagnostic trouble code (DTC) or make another attempt.
