ECM-33X0 IGNITION COIL X
FAULTY SIGNAL
Checking status
- Start the engine and let it idle. Engine should run evenly
Does the engine run on all cylinders?
Yes - Faulty Signal - Intermittent Fault
No - Continue below.
Faulty signal. Permanent fault
Checking connector and wiring
Check ignition coil connector for contact resistance and oxidation according to [1][2]Checking Wiring and Terminals. Permanent Fault
Check signal cable between ignition coil # 1 and engine control module (ECM):
# A31 (ECM-3300)
# A30 (ECM-3310)
# A29 (ECM-3320)
# A51 (ECM-3330)
# A50 (ECM-3340)
for a short-circuit to supply voltage according to [1][2]Checking Wiring and Terminals. Permanent Fault, a short-circuit to ground according to [1][2]Checking Wiring and Terminals. Permanent Fault, and an open-circuit according to [1][2]Checking Wiring and Terminals. Permanent Fault
Remedy as necessary.
