ECM-300A CAMSHAFT POSITION (CMP) SENSOR
DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE (DTC) INFORMATION
Condition
When the engine speed (RPM) exceeds 500 rpm, the control module calculates assumes that the camshaft position (CMP) sensor Will make 5 flanker changes for each crankshaft revolution. 19 miscounts can be made within a 200 rpm interval before the engine control module (ECM) interprets it as a fault and stores ECM-300A.
Condition
Uses the engine speed (RPM) sensor if it functions.
Possible source
Faulty Signal
- intermittent open-circuit in the wiring or splices.
- Incorrectly adjusted camshafts
- defective camshaft position (CMP) sensor.
