Recall No. 93 Shielded fuel filter bracket
Background
It has been determined that a defect, which relates to motor vehicle safety, exists in the fuel filter bracket of certain model year 1999 S70 AWD sedans. In all vehicles affected by this recall, an upgraded fuel filter protection bracket will be installed.

Preparations
The fuel filter is located above the rear axle, on the right side of the tank.
Lift up vehicle to gain access to the fuel filter.

Remove fuel filter bracket
Remove:
Carefully remove the screw holding the bracket (1).
Fuel filter retaining bracket.

Install shielded bracket
Make sure the fuel filter is seated correctly in the filter bracket.
Install new retaining bracket with shield (see illustration) and screw (1), tighten torque 4 Nm.
Note!
Make sure no wires are pinched (see arrow) and that the fuel lines are positioned behind the shield.
