Activating Components

This function of the Volvo Scan Tool allows combined instrument panel gauges, warning lamps and displays to be activated. This is to check that the signals from the control module to components are correct, and that the LCD segments in the display are complete.

The following gauges are activated at the same time:
- Speedometer
- Fuel gauge
- Temperature gauge
- Tachometer

The following warning lamps are activated at the same time:
- Low washer reservoir level
- Low fuel level
- Bulb failure warning sensor
- Low brake fluid level
- Parking brake on (does not flash if the parking brake is on)
- Low coolant level
- Service reminder indicator (SRI)
- Outside temperature

On activation the needles on the gauges go from minimum to maximum at the same time as the warning lamps flash. The odometer and trip odometer displays show all digits as zeros first. They are then shown as 1's, 2's, 3's and so on.

The clock and outside temperature gauge (trip computer) displays show all digits as zeros first. They are then shown as 1's, 2's, 3's and so on at the same time as the trip computer function symbols flash. Note that the upper left segment of the clock's first digit is missing.
