Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) Information
ECM-9520 ACCELERATOR PEDAL (AP) POSITION SENSOR, FAULTY SIGNAL
DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE (DTC) INFORMATION
Condition
The pulse width modulated signal from the Accelerator Pedal (AP) position sensor is connected to the Engine Control Module (ECM) and to the throttle unit via the Engine Control Module (ECM).
Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) ECM-9520 is stored if the Engine Control Module (ECM) registers a fault in the pulse width modulated signal from the Accelerator Pedal (AP) position sensor.
Condition
- Slow throttle opening in response to requested throttle opening.
Possible source
Signal too low
- short-circuit to supply voltage in the signal cable
- Short-circuit to ground in signal cable
- open-circuit in the signal cable
- open-circuit in the voltage supply cable
- open-circuit in the ground lead
- defective Accelerator Pedal (AP) position sensor
- low battery voltage.
Faulty signal
- defective Accelerator Pedal (AP) position sensor
- low battery voltage.
Condition
- Electronic throttle system warning lamp lit
- poor Accelerator Pedal (AP) response.
