Engaging time, check

Hint: Check and notify of the condition of the brakes and clutch.

Note! Make several checks and use the average value. Pause between the checks for about 1 minute.Always check the oil level first. The gearbox should be at normal working temperature (above 50° C).

Preparations
Put on the handbrake
Start the engine and check the idling speed.

Measurement of the engaging time from N-position to D-position.
Move the gear-shift lever from the N-position to the D-position and measure the time with a stop watch from changing to engaging (a brief thrust).
The time should be less than 0.7 seconds.
Repeat the procedure a few times and calculate the average value.

Measurement of the engaging time from N-position to R-position.
Repeat the procedure according to item Preparations and Measurement of the engaging time from N-position to D-position, but move the gear-shift lever from N- to R-position.
The time should be less than 1.2 seconds .
