Transmission, input shaft seal, replacement

Note! Preparations: Before replacing gearbox input shaft seal, carry out operations Transmission, removal Transmission, Removal.

Remove throwout (release) bearing sleeve




- Remove the three screws holding the sleeve.

Tap in extractor 999 5489





Note! Jackscrew in extractor must be unscrewed.

- Check that extractor grips input shaft seal.
Remove input shaft seal.

Install new input shaft seal




- Lubricate lip of the input shaft seal.
- Use drift 999 5490 999 5490.
- Tap in input shaft seal until the drift contacts the transmission cover.

Install throwout bearing sleeve




- Apply locking fluid lightly to bolts.
- Install the three bolts and tighten to 10 Nm .
