Air Cleaner Housing: Service and Repair

In certain markets water and snow have penetrated the Air Cleaner (ACL) via the air intake. A splashguard that protects the air intake has been introduced into production. This splashguard is now available as a replacement part for customers. The splashguard is screwed onto the plastic grille. The air intake on turbocharged engines must be replaced with the one used on normally aspirated engines.

Method:
Install splashguard, P/N 9179099-8.





Secure with screw 979190-6.
Use the existing hole in the front end.

Cars with turbocharged engines
As well as the splashguard the split air intake must be replaced with air intake P/N 1397877-0.
