Intake Air Heater: Testing and Inspection






Check preheating intake air

Replacement of pre-heating thermostat in the air cleaner housing Service and Repair

Note!
Check attachment and seal for:
- preheating hose
- air cleaner (ACL) housing
- intake hose
- air intake (in front of radiator)
- cold air hose

Check air cleaner (ACL) housing and remove throttle body (TB)




Remove the air cleaner (ACL).

Check air cleaner (ACL) housing internally, clean if necessary.

Disconnect air duct terminals.

Carefully pull housing from the mountings.

Remove throttle body (TB) from the air cleaner (ACL) housing by pressing in the spring-loaded catches while pulling the pull out down.

Check throttle function for:




- bearings and mountings
- spring
- thermostat, chill thermostat (with freeze spray for example)
Throttle position at different temperatures:
A = ≤+5°C (preheated air only)
B = approximately +10°C
C = ≥+15°C (cold air only)

Assemble air cleaner (ACL) housing




Assemble throttle body (TB).

Install air cleaner (ACL) housing in the car.

Connect all the hoses and connector.

Reinstall air cleaner (ACL) if necessary install a new one.
