Replacing backrest upholstery

Special tools required: 115 8962

Preparations:

Make a note of radio code if anti-theft coded radio is installed.

Remove:






- battery negative lead (disconnect).
- seat from car. Replacing Seat Assembly
- lumbar support adjustment knob. Screw anti-clockwise until the knob stops. Continue screwing anti-clockwise and pull out hard.
- plastic cover for backrest release mechanism.

Removing Upholstery:






- Remove backrest from seat.
- Release the upholstery catches on the bottom edge.
- Stan to pull oft upholstery.
- Then remove the clamps between upholstery and padding.

Installing:






- Install in reverse order.
- Start securing clamps in the middle of the backrest between the upholstery and padding using special pliers P/N 115 8962.

Unsecuring the SIPS Airbag:

Remove the transport deactivator from the sensor module and replace it inside the control panel.
