Checking connector and wire
- Ignition off.
- Disconnect seat-belt buckle connector.
- Check the seat-belt buckle connector visually for contact resistance and oxidation Checking wiring and terminals. Permanent fault Checking Wiring and Terminals. Permanent Fault.
- Ignition on.
Hint: Using a narrow measuring probe, measure on the connector pin to check the voltage.
Check that there is supply voltage on connector #1.
Do the necessary corrective action.

- Ignition off.
Check seat-belt buckle connector #1 and #2 for a short circuit to ground, as described in Checking wiring and terminals. Permanent fault Checking Wiring and Terminals. Permanent Fault.
Connect an ohmmeter between #1 and #2 on the seat-belt buckle and check that the resistance is approximately 20 M( when the seat-belt buckle is open.
Do the necessary corrective action.

- Ignition off.
- Connect the seat-belt buckle connector.
- Check seat-belt buckle connector #2 for a short circuit to ground, as described in Checking wiring and terminals. Permanent fault Checking Wiring and Terminals. Permanent Fault.
- Disconnect the control unit connector.
- Ignition on.
Connect a voltmeter to connector #8 of the control unit and check that there is power when the seat-belt buckle is locked.
Do the necessary corrective action.

Hint: After carrying out the repair, check that the fault has been remedied.
- Ignition off
- Disconnect the battery negative lead
- Reinstall the connectors, components etc.
- Ignition on
- Connect the battery negative lead.
Warning! There must not be anyone inside the passenger compartment when the battery is connected.
- Read off diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs).
The fault is no longer present if the status of the diagnostic trouble code (DTC) has changed to intermittent.
