Signal Too High. Intermittent Fault

Signal too high. Intermittent fault

Checking the components

- Ignition on.
Connect an oscilloscope between passenger air bag #1 and #2. Check for an intermittent short circuit to voltage supply, as described in Checking wiring and terminals. Intermittent faults Checking Wiring and Terminals. Intermittent Faults.
The oscilloscope should now show a spiked pulse with a period time of approximately 500 ms.
Also test between ground and air bag #2; the oscilloscope should show approximately 2 V.
If there are faults in the wires, the cable harness must be replaced. No repairs should be carried out on the cable harness.
Do the necessary corrective action.

Note! After this test, diagnostic trouble code SRS-222 is set. Ignore this code, which is set as a result of the test.
