Intermittent fault












- Make a note of any radio code.
- Ignition off.
- Disconnect the battery negative lead.
- Disconnect connector from passenger air bag.
- Disconnect the control unit.
- Check the connectors for contact resistance and oxidation, as described in Checking wiring and terminals. Intermittent faults Checking Wiring and Terminals. Intermittent Faults.
Check in particular for damage etc.

Warning! Never use an ohmmeter or any other charged measuring instrument on a disconnected, undeployed air bag module. There is a risk that the air bag could be deployed!

Connect an ohmmeter between passenger air bag #1 and #2 and check for an intermittent open circuit, as described in Checking wiring and terminals. Intermittent faults Checking Wiring and Terminals. Intermittent Faults.
Do the necessary corrective action.
